Beakers get hot when you boil water in them. Also, salt really helps water boil more to a higher temperature. If there is more water than salt, the temperature will not get as high.
In todays lab i learned that salt affects the way that your water heats and how hot it gets.. the more salt you have the hotter and faster it will heat up!
well, in the lab today, i learned that salt and water mixed together, cause it to to boil faster. i aslo learned that the more salt you add, the faster the water boils. The temperaturea also rises more when there is salt added. The lab was quite entertaining!!
I learned about boiling points and how they change when you change the density of a solution. We expirimented with distilled water and salt. We increased the density of the salt in the solution and observed how teh boiling points changed.
I learned that it can take a very long time for salt water to boil. I also learned that salt water can have a higher temperature when it is boiled. I realized that if more water was in the solute than salt, it would not go down as high.
I learned that when you add salt to water and you boit it, it makes the temperature go higher. If there is less salt then water the temperature won't be as high.
Today i learbed quite a bit. I leared about the temperature probes and how to use them with the hot plates and with the salt mixtures in the changing temperatures. I leanred that when we had more water and not as much salt that the temperature wasnt as high in ours, and when we had less water and more salt the temperature was pretty high. So i pretty much learned that salt affects the tempeture of your water.

The beakers got really hot and when you put salt in it the water got a higher temperature. and if there is more water than the salt the temp will not get as high if there is more salt.
I learned how to use the logger pro software and how to set everything up. I also learned that when you put salt into water and boil it the more salt that you have in the water the hotter the temperature will be
Well i Learned that salt is like a catalyst to help the water get to a higher temp, and to get their faster. The more you add the higher the temp, and the faster it is heated. The salt also changed the density of the water. We made a solution.

I learned how to put away the weights the right way and how to put the probes away and then i learned how to set up the probe to the computer.
